It's amazing how productive I am with no wife and kids around.

Plus, happy 40th, yet more small city moments, asshole neighbors and less.

Poll: Most interesting chore?

I had Friday and today off, due to traveling and working a weekend ago, and I made the most of it.

Friday I cleaned up the garage a bit, and half finished my starter clutch (I put in the new springs, but tried to start if before the Lock-tite dried).

Today I depooped the yard, mowed the yard, removed two air conditioners, replaced and tightened some light bulbs, and finished my starter clutch. I'm giving the Lock-tite a day to dry.

Saturday was a busy day, and shitty night. In the morning there was swimming for both girls, and a quick 20 minutes on the elliptical. Then, some quick gift shopping and groceries, and a 40th birthday party picnic for a high school friend.

I was afraid the picnic would be a last hurrah, since the friend has a form a leukemia, but they up his meds to $3000 a month and he's doing well. We sounded like a bunch of old farts talking abotu our meds, diabetes and aches and pains.

The picnic brought two Rochester is a small city moments. First, preschool mom knows my friend, as her husband is a cancer survivor and they attend the same support group. Second, one the members of the club that takes exercise classes with Mrs. Ha showed up, her husband uses friend for his board manager on the radio.

The night got shitty, the assholes a few doors down decided to do another stand out front, drink heavily and "whoo" "yahoo" "fuck you" all night long thing. About midnight one of them was fighting with his ex in front of our house, when we approached him (like he suggested when we talked to him after his last party), he got defensive and profane. They were still going at it at 4 in the morning, out back, yelling and cursing. I do need to ask him if this is their Thanksgiving party, or Saint Paddy's day party, since he said they only have these parties a few times a year. Post-college drunk-tards.

Amen my brother by Bob Abooey (2.00 / 0) #3 Mon Sep 25, 2006 at 01:36:19 PM EST
I just got back from the pharmacy place after dropping 60 clams (that's with my insurance card) on some meds.

The good news is that my cholesterol is still good and my blood pressure is, get this, 116/68!! HA! Try to beat that if you can! Dr. Bombay said that's the best blood pressure EVAR! and that they should write a book about me. Well, actually she paraphrased it in not quite those exact terms, but that's what she meant.

Warmest regards,
--Your best pal Bob

Man, I haven't seen that guy in MONTHS.  Now I'll have to stop off on my way home and see if he and Nurse Tonic are both available...

Every fall there's a new small town yahoo who's got to prove he can yell longer and louder than anyone else at every kegger.

Depooped the yard by jimgon (2.00 / 0) #6 Mon Sep 25, 2006 at 03:16:53 PM EST
I would if the kids actually used the yard.  I'm thinking of waiting until spring, by then it should be fertilizer for my spring weed crop.

to moving to a farther out suburb from having 50x50 ft yard where you had to pick up the poop to a 1/2 acre yard where the dogs are polite enough to poop along the fenses.

1/2 acre too by jimgon (2.00 / 0) #9 Tue Sep 26, 2006 at 11:25:43 AM EST
But we have the dog enclosed in a 50x50 area where he poops like a mad man.  Though he usually does his business in areas that few dare to tread.  We have some very big snakes living in those weeds.
